History of RTC Library | 02 | The Library is a Knowledge Centre which has rich resources mainly in Social Sciences, Humanities and Sciences. It is a two storied building. It is situated in the midst corner adjacent to Commerce & Economics department of the academic complex of the Institute and is the hub of all the academic activities of the Institute and provides comprehensive access to books, journals, reports, e-journal/online databases, e-books, electronic theses and dissertations. Established in 1967, The Central Library is the knowledge hub of Ramthakur College, It provides comprehensive access to books, journals, electronic theses and dissertations (NLIST/INFLIBNET), reports, surveys covering diverse disciplines. The College was established in the year 1967 by Late Pramod Ranjan Bhatta Chaudhuri at Town Pratapgarh in a six room structure with eight subjects in the Arts group and catered to the crying need of Higher Education by admitting all and sundry who could not procure a berth for himself or herself in the then degree college of Agartala. That was the beginning July the 17th, 1967 and then there was no looking back. Presently the college has Arts, Science and Commerce streams with approximately 3000 students. It caters to the aspirations and dreams of boys and girls of sub-urban areas of Agartala. |

Donation / Gift | 13 | RTC Library receives Books and other documents from various sources like Educationists, Government Organizations, NGOs, so and so forth. Constraints of space necessitate the library to stop accepting books from any individuals. Books gifted from major institutions and other individuals may be accepted depending on their utility and physical condition. |
