About the Department
The Chemistry Department was established in the year 1986 to fulfil the demand of the students of Tripura State. The Department since that period initiated with one elective subject for the B.Sc. Pass Course and B.Sc. Honours Course since the year 2004. In the academic year 2008-09, revised syllabus with (1+1+1) system of Tripura University for both the Pass and Honours course has been implemented. In the academic year 2014-2015, revised Syllabus with 6 Semesters CBCS of Tripura University has been implemented. In the academic year 2023-24, undergraduate programme as FYUG-NEP (Bachelor of Science) has implemented in Ramthakur College. In FYUG-NEP (Bachelor of Science), Major, Minor and Interdisciplinary courses has introduced in Chemistry. At present there are 3 (three) Nos. regular faculty members and 2 (two) Nos. Guest teacher in the Department.
